When a rapper starts barking like a dog on a livestream, the internet tends to have opinions.
Drake hosted a "20-v-1" dating-style segment on Kick on Saturday, August 8, and it went viral almost immediately. The contest was hosted by Nelk founder Kyle Forgeard. The roughly three-hour broadcast marked the ninth anniversary of Stake, the online crypto casino that has sponsored Drake's livestreams for years. Stake announced the stream with an Instagram post advertising more than $1 million in cash and prize giveaways, including a $50,000 grand prize for one viewer.
Gambling quickly took a backseat. Things moved beyond the casino portion into something closer to a chaotic Drake variety show. The rapper cycled through conversations with 20 women, sorting them into categories like "wife," "hook up," and "best friend." Contestants included Lena The Plug, Jordyn Lucas, Lily Phillips, and goth streamer Pinkchyu.
Pinkchyu delivered the clip that broke the internet. She stood out with her goth-inspired look, which included pale makeup, a tight spandex dress, and a spiked choker. Mid-conversation, she asked if Drake was open to "silly" roleplay. He took the bait willingly. "You can look me dead in my eyes and if you say do anything, I would," Drake said with a grin. When Pinkchyu asked if he would bark for her, the rapper immediately complied.
He did not just comply once. He barked like a poodle, multiple times.
The choice echoed comments Drake made during a September 2025 appearance on Bobbi Althoff's podcast Not This Again, where he said his destiny was to end up with a "goth baddie." True to form, he gave Pinkchyu the "wife" designation. Lucas landed in the best-friend category, while Lena the Plug fell into the hookup slot. Lucas received $25,000 and a Birkin bag, while Lena was given $25,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip reportedly to New Zealand.
Pinkchyu's gift request was different. She was offered the chance to choose one gift, and she requested a house for her mother so she could retire. Drake complied, saying, "Oh yeah, I'd love to." Pinkchyu, whose real name is Lin Lamar, is an online streamer known for cosplay, art, music, gaming, and roleplay content. Her post on X captioned "I'm the goth baddie" pulled over 11 million views.
The barking clip gained its own meta-layer almost instantly. It led Drake to walk back advice he gave IShowSpeed back in 2023, when the streamer asked how to attract women on Instagram. At the time, Drake took a barking-averse approach. His original reply? "Stop barking at them off the rip, maybe just say something nice."
Having now done exactly that on camera, Drake posted an Instagram Story this weekend. "Darren… I retract my statement," he wrote. He also shared IShowSpeed's live reaction to the barking. Speed's verdict was blunt: "He was talking all of that sh*t, and now Drake barking."
Beyond the dating spectacle, the broadcast carried sharper edges. Drake reflected on recently dropping three projects at once and warned rivals: "These guys are dropping albums, like hello and goodbye, and careful with that reply 'cause the pen isn't dry." He also joked that the "Roc Nation subpoenas" were "about to be cleared," referencing speculation tying Roc Nation to the federal class action involving Stake. He stirred further speculation by floating the idea of a yacht-based anniversary stream next year, then immediately backtracking by claiming he hates boats. Given rumors of a fallout between Drake and Lil Yachty, commentator Akademiks wondered whether the remark was a subliminal shot.
The stream carried its own separate controversy after footage showed Lena the Plug removing her wedding ring following an on-camera hug with Drake.
Drake later addressed the whole night on Instagram with characteristic self-awareness. He wrote, "My second 20 v 1 was almost as lit as the first," a nod to the 2024 rap beef with Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, and others. That phrase circulated heavily during the multi-front feud, when fans used "20 v 1" to describe Drake trading lyrical shots with half the industry simultaneously.
According to Streams Charts, the broadcast peaked at 180,959 concurrent viewers on Kick. Drake's all-time platform record remains 202,478 peak viewers, set in December 2024.
Rolling Stone noted that the stream exemplified new norms of online video, where viral clips flood the feed thanks in part to Kick's well-reported army of clippers turning each moment into shareable fodder. Drake has embedded himself deeper in streamer culture throughout 2026, delivering a prerecorded address to Kai Cenat's Streamer University and leaving care packages in attendees' rooms.
Drake announced his Stake partnership in March 2022. Four years later, these broadcasts have become his own recurring media franchise. Whether the house for Pinkchyu's mother actually materializes remains to be seen. For now, the barking clip has a comfortable shelf life ahead of it.
