Paris Fashion Week ended on a note of weightless possibility.
Creative director Nicolas Ghesquière presented the Louis Vuitton women's Spring-Summer 2027 collection on October 6 at the Cour Carrée du Louvre. Suspended concept cars hovered above a long asphalt runway painted with Damier checks. James Chinlund's retro-futuristic set mixed classic architecture with flying vehicles that glowed like something from a 1970s sci-fi frame.
Ghesquière titled the collection Ergonomie. He sought clothes that move with the body rather than constrain it.
“I wanted to express a sensation of simplicity, a feeling of purity,” he told Vogue. “It’s an impression of minimalism, but the work behind this construction, the simplification, making things extremely light, is really complex.” Flowing chiffons, sheer layers, soft jackets, and second-skin dresses dominated. Fabrics stayed airy and technical to suit warmer climates.
“The world is getting warm,” Ghesquière noted after the show. He designed pieces that feel like a second skin while still holding shape.
House ambassadors turned out in force. Stray Kids member Felix arrived in a sharp double-breasted blazer with a cross pattern, white shirt, black tie, and trousers.
He swept his long blonde hair back. BLACKPINK’s Lisa drew heavy social attention in a ruffled off-shoulder top with lilac and yellow frills paired with a micro leather miniskirt and gold jewelry. She debuted a retro bob. Both have served as Louis Vuitton ambassadors for years and consistently amplify the house’s reach across Asia and global youth markets.
Zendaya, another ambassador, reworked a white lace bolero from her earlier Odyssey press tour over a tank and jeans. Emma Stone chose cobalt tailoring.
Other guests included Saoirse Ronan, Ana de Armas, KATSEYE’s Daniela and Yoonchae, and Louis Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari. Pharrell Williams, the house’s menswear creative director, was also present. Lisa’s appearance generated the strongest social chatter of the night, with mentions climbing well past half a million across platforms as fans shared arrival videos and front-row shots.
The collection opened in near-white and pale tones. Lightweight shift dresses, lettuce-edged chiffon, collarless jackets and fluid trousers followed.
Later looks added graphic checks, iridescent diamond overlays and soft ruffles that caught the evening air. Bags stayed small and light in cream and lemon Épi leather. Ghesquière linked the lightness to the house’s travel roots. Early Vuitton trunks grew flatter and more portable over time. Here the same logic applied to ready-to-wear built for movement through city chaos.
K-pop’s hold on luxury front rows remains firm. Ambassadors like Felix and Lisa bring massive, engaged audiences that traditional celebrities alone no longer guarantee. Their presence turns a runway into a global event within hours. The show closed the season on a practical yet optimistic note. Clothes engineered for real bodies in a hotter climate feel timely.
Next season will test how far this fluid approach travels from the Louvre courtyard into stores and onto streets.
