HUM TV has confirmed its next big pairing. Iqra Aziz and Azaan Sami Khan are set to share the screen in an upcoming drama serial tentatively titled Apsara, bringing together two familiar faces in a new on-screen pairing that has already caught the attention of drama enthusiasts.

The upcoming project boasts an experienced creative team, with actor-director Yasir Nawaz attached to helm the serial, while screenwriter Zanjabeel Asim Shah has penned the script. Khan's path to this role looks different. He didn't start as an actor. He is a Pakistani musician, composer, and actor, best known as a film and television music composer before moving into acting. He made his television acting debut in 2021 with the Hum TV drama serial Ishq E Laa. Since then his workload has grown fast. He went on to appear in Hum Dono and Meri Tanhai, both spanning 2024 and 2025, followed by Ae Dil and the ARY Digital serial Main Manto Nahi Hoon in 2025.
That pace hasn't gone unquestioned. When Meri Tanhai premiered, the response was mixed. While fans were excited about the new drama, many others criticized his casting. A separate project has drawn even sharper criticism. Aina Asif is 17 years old while Khan is 33, a 16-year age gap that has sparked discussion among drama viewers questioning the decision to pair actors from noticeably different age groups.
That backdrop matters here. Apsara isn't landing in a vacuum. It's arriving right as Khan's casting choices are already under a microscope, which likely explains why HUM TV's announcement split opinion so fast.
