He joined the NCA permanent faculty the following year and was recognized as an Associate of NCA in 2019. A signature motif in his work is the depiction of smooth, sculpted, gender-neutral shaven heads paired with organic elements like water, mountains, and trees to evoke calm, meditative states and explore deep themes of collective responsibility and spirituality.Beyond his studio practice, Naeem is a dedicated mentor who established Studio RM in Lahore in 2008. This independent space hosts an international artist residency program that fosters global cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration. Over his three-decade career, Naeem has held more than 20 solo exhibitions and participated in major international events, including the India Art Fair, the Asian Art Biennale in Bangladesh, Asia Now Paris, and the Karachi Biennale. His artwork is featured globally on major platforms like Saatchi Art and locally through premier galleries like O Art Space.
