South Asian ARMYs rarely get this kind of direct attention from their favorite K-pop group, and this week, the internet let them know it.
Kim Taehyung, the BTS vocalist known as V, delighted fans across the subcontinent with comments about food and tourist attractions in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh during a Weverse interaction on July 16. When an Indian fan asked whether BTS would visit the country, Taehyung replied simply that he wants to go to India.
That alone would have been enough to break fan timelines. But he kept going.
He mentioned Pakistani dishes, including biryani and karahi, while discussing local cuisine he would like to try. A Pakistani fan had asked, "Taetae when Pakistan?? want to see you." Taehyung's response was playful and specific: "If I go to Pakistan, will you make Biriyani and Karahi?"
Turning his attention to Bangladesh, the singer referred to several well-known tourist attractions after researching the country, highlighting Cox's Bazar Beach and the Pink Palace Museum as places that caught his interest. The whole exchange had a warmth to it that felt genuine rather than scripted.
No additional tour dates for the Arirang World Tour have been announced beyond what is already confirmed, and South Asia does not appear on the current schedule. The tour, BTS's sixth and the largest of their career, began on April 9 in Goyang and spans more than 88 dates across 34 cities in 23 countries through 2027. BigHit Music has confirmed that additional dates in Japan, the Middle East, and more regions are expected to be announced for a 2027 extension.
That open-ended language is exactly what fueled the excitement. Fans in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh read Taehyung's words not just as casual banter but as a signal that the group is aware of demand in the region. Speculation in the ARMY community has been growing, especially given the tour's scale and BTS's strong fanbase across South Asia.
The Arirang tour has received critical acclaim so far. Its setlist brings together fan-favorite hits spanning over a decade alongside new tracks from BTS's fifth studio album, Arirang, which dropped on March 20. Performances feature a 360-degree stage, and every North American and European date sold out within hours.
For now, Taehyung's food-focused reply lives as one of those small Weverse moments that fans will reference for years. Whether biryani and karahi are enough to pull BTS toward Lahore or Karachi remains to be seen. South Asian ARMYs, at least, are ready to cook.
