Taylor Frankie Paul just proved the point by confirming her own engagement from the never-aired The Bachelorette season 22. The reveal landed in a Season 5 Secret Lives of Mormon Wives clip dropped on the Sept. 3 episode of Hulu's Get Real podcast.
Paul sat with co-stars Jessi Draper, Mikayla Matthews, and Mayci Neeley. She nodded no when asked about fantasy suite sex. Then came the clear admission. A suitor got down on one knee. “[I said,] ‘Yes.’ Yes, I did [get engaged],” Paul stated.
She added that ex Dakota Mortensen texted after filming wrapped and came to her place. Matthews quipped that she knew how that happened.
The ladies pointed out the suitor shared initials with Mortensen. Both men hail from Idaho. ABC pulled the completed season days before its planned March premiere. A 2023 video of Paul in a physical altercation with Mortensen surfaced via TMZ. Disney cited the footage and an ongoing domestic investigation involving the pair, who share a young son.
Charges from the fresh probe did not stick. Paul has since pushed a fan petition for the episodes to air. No network green light has come. Disney executives previously called the fate day-to-day. This self-spoiler makes a full broadcast far less likely.
Paul rose through MomTok and the Hulu series that turned Utah influencer drama into streaming gold. She was the first Bachelorette lead drawn from outside the franchise. Her casting aimed to refresh a show chasing younger viewers. The personal history with Mortensen, including a prior aggravated assault plea, followed her onto the rose ceremonies.
Production on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 paused amid the fallout. It returns as a shortened five-episode run on Sept. 10. Paul appears in limited form. The engagement talk now serves as the de facto finale viewers will get.

Cameron urged the network to drop the footage anyway. Paul herself has stayed mostly quiet on the unaired hours beyond this clip. The Get Real moment breaks the usual cast silence.
