Brand deals keep reshaping kids' animation these days. Electric vehicles now roll into storylines that blend thrills with green tech messages.
The latest arrives from the Miraculous universe. A special episode titled Miracle Power landed on official YouTube channels worldwide. It puts Ladybug and Cat Noir alongside sleek DENZA models from BYD. High-energy sequences show the heroes racing near the Eiffel Tower. Battery graphics spotlight fast-charging tech as they battle a power-hungry supervillain threatening to darken Paris.
This marks the next chapter in the Mediawan-BYD alliance. The two joined forces early this year to fund premium content and weave vehicles into productions. Their first outing was a June Chibi short called Watt a Dream Date!. Marinette raced a Dolphin Surf through slapstick mishaps to reach Adrien. That piece drew strong online numbers. Miracle Power steps up to the flagship style with full heroes and multiple models.
Created by Thomas Astruc with Jeremy Zag and Nathanael Bronn, the franchise follows Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste. They transform into Ladybug and Cat Noir to protect Paris from akumatized foes. Miraculous Corp, the Mediawan-ZAG joint venture, steers the brand. It airs in over 150 territories. Seasons keep coming, with a seventh in production and a theatrical feature in development. BYD cars will appear there too.
Stella Li, executive vice president of BYD, framed the tie-up clearly. “Our partnership with Mediawan and Miraculous is rooted in a shared belief in the power of storytelling to inspire and connect people around the world. From the very beginning, we wanted to go beyond traditional brand integration and become a genuine creative partner.” Andy Yeatman, CEO of Miraculous Corp USA and Global Operations, added praise for the approach.
“Over the past year, we've been impressed not only by BYD's commitment to innovation, but by the thoughtfulness and imagination they have brought to our collaboration. That spirit really comes to life in Miracle Power.”
The short runs just a few minutes. It fits the digital-first format that has fueled the franchise's YouTube dominance. Official channels boast tens of millions of subscribers and billions of views. Multi-language versions rolled out at once. Promo art mixed superhero energy with glowing roads and lightning effects under the tower.
Fan response split along familiar lines. Many cheered the fresh animation quality and Ladynoir moments. Others noted the product focus. Some called it more advertisement than full story. That debate played out quickly on social platforms after the drop. No larger controversy took hold. Excitement stayed tied to the visuals and the wait for main-series news.
BYD overtook rivals as the top new-energy vehicle seller. Pairing with a youth hit lets the brand reach future drivers. Shared themes of innovation and cleaner mobility sit at the center. Mediawan gains funding for ambitious projects in a tight market. A joint talent award has already launched at Cannes. More integrations lie ahead, including live-action titles.
The special keeps the franchise visible between seasons. It tests how brand partners can deepen rather than distract. Season 7 will show where the core story heads next. For now the City of Light gets an electric boost.
Viewers can stream it free on the official channels.
