Fashion magazines have long turned to music stars when seasons shift, and cultural energy needs a reset. That pattern holds as fall collections roll out and New York Fashion Week looms.
Megan Thee Stallion now anchors InStyle’s September 2026 Fall Fashion and Beauty Issue with a series of bold portraits.
Photographed by Josefina Santos, the images feature stacked bun hairstyles, sculptural outfits and vibrant backdrops. Those elements nod directly to her 2025 single Whenever. The looks capture the Houston rapper at full command of her visual brand.
In the accompanying profile by Jason Sheeler, Stallion comes across as joyful, curious, and grateful. She has built a career on that energy since freestyle videos first went viral. Three Grammy wins and multiple Billboard No. 1s followed. At 31, she remains one of the few artists who own their masters while operating independently through Hot Girl Productions.
A new distribution partnership with Interscope supports the next phase. Her forthcoming album revives the harder-edged Tina Snow persona that first appeared on a 2018 EP. “It’s time for Tina Snow because I finally have reached a point in my life and in my career where I learned that people who don’t like you, there’s nothing you can do to make them like you,” she told the magazine.
Stallion separates her personas carefully. Tina Snow handles the sharper edges. Megan Thee Stallion delivers the public performer. Megan Pete stays more private. The album arrives as she expands what she calls the Hot Girl Universe across music, swimwear, dogwear, tequila and fragrance.
She launched Hot Girl Summer Eau de Parfum with Coty earlier this year. The scent mixes coconut milk, orchid and vetiver in a flame-shaped bottle. “I am Hot Girl Summer. So why not have a Hot Girl Universe? I’m going to make it all the things that are in my head and manifest them into my real life,” she said.
Swimwear followed the same logic. She walked her own runway at Miami Swim Week. A Popeyes franchise and Chicas Divertidas tequila round out the portfolio. Anime collaboration with The Boondocks creator Carl Jones and a Broadway stint in Moulin Rouge! show the range.
The profile arrives months after her split from NBA player Klay Thompson. She announced the end of their roughly year-long relationship in April via Instagram. Trust, fidelity and respect ranked as non-negotiable. In the interview, she described the aftermath without softening it.
“I’m trying my best,” Stallion said. “I feel like I’ve been put through the washing machine and the dryer with tins, shovels, and a cactus. It was very rough.” She added that she had been losing herself trying to fit into someone else’s life. Now she focuses on finding herself again.
“What’s meant for you is always going to work out,” she explained. “And if something is constantly making you feel uncomfortable, just on edge all the time, you probably are not supposed to be there.” Self-respect came first. “I cannot be disrespected. You will not disrespect me. And you will be thankful. Period.”
Therapy remains part of the process. She takes days offline under covers with her dogs when needed. The creative work continues without pause. She wants to own summer the way Mariah Carey owns Christmas. “As soon as summer starts, boom, it’s Megan. I’m not playing.”
The InStyle cover lands as Stallion turns personal recovery into brand expansion. Fans already respond to the visuals and the candor. Next comes the album and whatever else the Hot Girl Universe requires. She keeps building on her own terms.
