Pakistani television has built several of its biggest recent hits on fresh, unexpected on-screen pairings.
Sarah Khan and Feroze Khan are the latest names testing that formula, joining forces for a new 7th Sky Entertainment production titled Lakht-e-Jigar, set to air on Geo Entertainment.
The project is being helmed by director Anjum Shahzad, a filmmaker with deep ties to both stars individually but no prior credit pairing them together. Shahzad has directed Feroze Khan multiple times before, including on the romantic hit Khaani and the rom-com Romeo Weds Heer, both produced under the same 7th Sky banner.
Romeo Weds Heer marked the third collaboration of Feroze with director Anjum Shahzad after the romantic films Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai and Khaani. Sarah Khan has her own history with the director too, having played the female lead opposite Bilal Abbas Khan in his drama Abdullahpur Ka Devdas.
Two established names, one new pairing
Sarah Khan built her career on romantic leads, starting with a supporting role in Badi Aapa before breaking through with a negative role of a selfish opportunist in romantic drama Alvida, followed by a brave housewife role in Mohabbat Aag Si, for which she won a Hum Award.
Feroze Khan, meanwhile, remains one of the industry's most talked about leading men. Born in 1990, he is a Pakistani actor who works in Urdu television and has received several accolades, including three Lux Style Awards. His most recent outing was Humraaz opposite Ayeza Khan, a serial from Geo TV and 7th Sky Entertainment that drew heavy attention on release.
According to early reports, Lakht-e-Jigar will lean into emotional family drama rather than pure romance.
Although producers have not revealed complete plot details, early reports suggest the drama will focus on relationships, emotional challenges and family dynamics, combining romance with powerful emotional moments. That formula has worked before for 7th Sky, a production house run by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi that has repeatedly paired big names under Shahzad's direction to strong ratings.
