The pair's last outing together drew strong ratings; now, 7th Sky Entertainment is betting on their chemistry again with a high-stakes new serial

Pakistani television's appetite for star-pairing dramas is showing no signs of slowing, and Geo Entertainment's next big announcement fits neatly into that moment. Actors Momina Iqbal and Junaid Khan are set to share the screen once again in Geo Entertainment's upcoming drama "Muhafiz." The serial is slated for a July 2026 premiere on Har Pal Geo.

The two actors received immense appreciation for their performances in the hit drama serial "Do Kinaray," and fans expressed a desire to see them together in another romantic story. "Do Kinaray" officially hit screens on 28th April 2025 on Green Entertainment. Their reunion on a different network, under a more prominent production banner, signals just how much commercial weight this pairing now carries.

The teaser of "Muhafiz" reveals an emotional story centered around protection, responsibility, and unexpected romance. Momina Iqbal plays Paras Behzad, a rich and stubborn young woman, while Junaid Khan appears as Sub Inspector Zawar Bakht, who receives the responsibility of protecting her. The drama explores the tension between the two characters as Paras views Zawar's security role as control, while he treats it as a professional duty.

Junaid Khan plays Zawar Bakht, a passionate, principled, and uncompromising police officer who is deeply committed to his profession and carries out every task with complete dedication. Zawar is neither influenced by wealth, status, nor power, but instead inspires those around him through his commitment to his responsibilities. On the other hand, Paras Behzad, played by Momina Iqbal, is confident, sharp, and highly independent. She carries an air of arrogance and seems to be someone who likes to stay in control, calculative and manipulative when necessary.

That push-and-pull dynamic forms the engine of the series. It is a familiar setup, and some corners of social media have noticed the resemblance. Many fans believe that while they are thrilled to see the hit on-screen couple return, they did not expect the drama to resemble the iconic Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor film "Bodyguard." Whether the script delivers something fresh will ultimately determine how the show lands with viewers already familiar with the genre.

The serial is presented by 7th Sky Entertainment and Geo, produced by the renowned duo Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi. Written by Sadia Akhtar and directed by Syed Ramish Rizvi, the production carries a dependable creative team behind it. Kadwani and Qureshi are among the most consistent production names in Pakistani television, with a long track record on the same network.

Junaid Khan is admired for projects like "Kashaf," "Ishq Tamasha," and "Sun Yaara," while Momina Iqbal is praised for "Tauba," "Dastak," "Ehsaan Faramosh," and several other successful dramas. Momina made her acting debut in 2018 with "Parlour Wali Larki" and later appeared in serials like "Khuda Aur Muhabbat 3," "Ishq Mein Kaafir," and "Ehd-e-Wafa."

The supporting cast includes Sohail Sameer, Yousuf Bashir Qureshi, Junaid Akhtar, Shaheen Khan, Dodi Khan, Ayesha Gul, Shamyl Khan, Areej Chaudhary, Javed Jamal, Malaika Riaz, Fatima Gohar, and Hassan Shah. That is a notably wide ensemble, suggesting the story extends well beyond the two leads.

The official OST of "Muhafiz," featuring Junaid Khan and Momina Iqbal, has also been released ahead of the premiere. With teasers already generating conversation online, the July window sets up what could be one of the most-watched Geo premieres of the second half of 2026.
